Want to post it in Mandarin, unfortunately my Chinese typing is pretty slow. Well this have to do for the time being.
The trip was intended to celebrate my ex-roommate birthday as well as get together session.
All went on pretty well. Got plenty of time to catch up on what we missed out for the past couple of months. Get to know her boy friend, nice and sincere fellow. Also, a few games of badminton with their friends.
Sat evening, we have dinner together with the group of girl friends. Mostly her schoolmates whom I got to know since college. Pretty interesting outing and nice dinner also at Sri Petaling. After that we went to have some light dessert. Heard of the place couple of times and finally I am there. Nice...
The next day, we went to New Way. 1st time, I went to Karaoke centre that provide attached batchroom. Or are we lucky to be given the room.
Ha ha.. 2 days went by pretty fast and it was a pretty lay back trip. Really relax. Should do this more often. When is the next one.. sigh..

KK Trip 30/9 ~ 5/10 - Part 2
Right, finally got sometime to continue. From Laba Rata, the resting point for all. The climb on the next morning 2:00am was tough. We have little sleep as the lodge does not have heater. The room is damp and cold. It does not help us either. We try to wrap ourselves with as many blankets and put on as many clothing as possible to keep ourselves warm...

2:ooam. Judgement time. Our mountain guide turn up and give us the good news. The weather is good to climb. Hurrah!!! Finally, the adventourous journey has started. There is no moon in sight, the day is cold as wind breezed past us from time to time. Even if you got a touch light, there is little visibility for sight more than 100 meter due to the mist. As I am the slowest among the group, our mountain guide stay close to me and guide me the whole way through.
Until we reach Sayak-sayak, I asked the park ranger there: "Will I see sun rise? Will I see KK town after sun rise?" The answer is "NO". The weather is only good for climb but does not guarantee I will see what I want to see". So, I decided to stay and let the guide to continue to hunt for my friends whom have travel far. Sometimes, I do think I am lucky as I did not get soak as it rains after I stayed in Sayak-sayak hut. It rains after a few minutes... Freezing.
Anyway, we started decend from the top to KK Park then head on to our next destination. Hot Poring. A place with warm sulphur bath to relax our muscle and reduce the soreness we have had through out the climb.
Here is sneak preview.

Round Island: 23 Sept 2007
The day starts out to be sunny and bright. A nice weather to go hiking or nature walk. :) This is an outing to show our Milpitas collegue, Michio the natural beauty and charm of Penang. Being a Penangnite, I proud to take the lead and kick start the following journey.
First stop, Muka Head. There are 5 adults and 2 kids (age 3 and 10). The initial part of the journey is great. Every one starts to walk to burn those extra fat we gain in office. May be I am burning the most. Then, when we reach USM reseach centre, we could not proceed further. The tides are in. Making the remaining journey to be tough unless we want to swim... :( Bad idea. So, we decide to stop and picnic under the trees. As I turn around to open my bag, a monkey was on the tree waiting to grab what I hv in my bag. Scary! We shift to the open ground hoping the monkeys will leave us alone. No luck, they tag and always on alert to grab our food. Very disappointing, we have to quickly wrap up our picnic session and head back to Kampung Nelayan to meet up with Bee Theng and her husband. She could not join as she is carry a baby. Reminder: try not to bring kids younger than 5 years old unless u intend to take boat to Muka Head/ Pantai Kerachut.
2nd stop, lunch. Not much place to go, but we managed to find a hawker stall which still open and we have prawn mees. It is opposite Caltex. We do order Roti Canai from next door, dumpling and pao as well. The prawn mee is not bad.
3rd, Batik shop/ factory. The shop is so so.. and the factory is not operating.. so, nothing much to see.. sigh..
4th, Butterfly farm. Have not been there since 1989. Never did think of coming here as well. The place seems bigger, may be because of the structure added at the entrance. But I found it to be interesting especially when we try to find the "moving leaves". Off course, there is plenty of collections... depart about 3:00 pm.
5th Tropical Food Farm. Not durian session, so we decide to sit and savour the tropical fruits they have to offer... $$$. I think it is worth it as there are breezes and cooling feeling. Some more the orchard care takers are friendly people. Plenty of greenary. Good place to rest. So, we sat there for more than 45 mins then decide to move on.
6th Sam Poh Temple. Since it is too late to go aquarium and War Museum, we headed for this place. The place is getting more commercialise than before. Well, it is not the same as it was several of tens years back.
Last on the list,, Dinner... Hurray, finally the end of the journey. We went to Northen Food Court for dinner to complete our round island trip. That night, I reached home about 8:30pm. I am out for the whole day... One full day..
My body was sore the next day... Not enough rest. But will I do it again.. Yup, but different planning. Next time, Georgetown. It is amazing, I still have couple of places in Penang that I have not been to yet. Need to explore more...

Recap 4 Aug 2007 Muka Head - Light House
As usual, me and my group had breakfast at Mc Donald. Then head to the meeting place, End of the World. Total 16 people. I think the crowd is building trip be trip. 7 -> 9 -> 16 wonder how many will come on the next trip.
So, first register at the Pondok Pendaftaran to get Entry Permit. No need to pay for that. And off we go.
The walk from Pasir Padak to Sg Tukun is easy. So, everyone is enjoying the walk. After that, we have to hike up and down, bending down or crawl over a fallen tree. Not bad huh... Off course slight rest at USM since one of our group member don't feel to well. The rest of the people were amaze with the number of little crab running on the beaches. What a luck, today we saw some bigger crab that cannot run fast and we block it to get it's beautiful pic.
The second half, USM - Monkey Beach. This path is slight thougher as we really need to watch out for our steps. It is not dangerous as long as we are careful. Then, white sandy Monkey Beach here we come... :)
Rest for a while then up up we head for Light House... The weather starts to change. Drizzle on the first part of the journey. Then bright and sunny day again when we reached the top.. What a sight.. This is much beautiful compare to my first trip there. The sky is blue and the sea line just unlimited.
On the way back, I choose to walk. The journey was smooth and the scenary is different. May sound strange but it is really different, the trees and the surrounding are just different due to sun coming in from different directions. Anyway, the whole trip was worth it although it was tiring.
